Stuffed Dates

Today in easy and fast dessert recipes, I have an on-the-go or save for later tasty recipe that includes peanut butter. Peanut butter contains a great number of healthy proteins and fats, and it’s simply delicious. So, we established the dessert is already delicious and healthy but let’s make it even better by getting creative and adding Dates and Dark Chocolate chips with a little something that’s optional.

Stuffed Dates Ingredients

Dates

Dates

All in all, the main ingredients are Dates, Dark chocolate chips (preferred), and peanut butter. Dates are one of nature’s candies and I love to use them whenever a sweet tooth arises. They have incredible properties which make them beneficial for our health, these properties include; lower glycemic than sugar, fiber, and a high number of antioxidants.

Dark Chocolate Chips

Dark Chocolate Chips

Just like Dates, Dark chocolate is also well renowned for its high levels of antioxidants but it also has the following properties:

  • Zinc

  • Phosphorus

  • Magnesium

The benefits of dark chocolate can be linked to high levels of zinc for the immune system, phosphorus for stronger teeth and bones, and magnesium which has been found to be related to a better quality of sleep.

Peanut Butter

Peanut Butter

Let’s make things clear, peanut butter, although great, should be added to our diets in moderation. Peanut butter is still high in calories and fat. That being said, let’s talk about the benefits which are similar to the ones in Dark Chocolate. First of all, it makes our dessert taste just like a snickers bar but health-wise, Peanut Butter contains properties just like dark chocolate but it also contains protein, in 2-tablespoons of Peanut butter there is a little over 7 grams of protein.

Stuffed Dates Preparation

  • Split the Organic Pitted Dates

  • Spread the peanut butter moderately to the brim

  • Place the Dark chocolate chips on top

  • Optional: Sprinkle cinnamon and sea salt

  • Finally, enjoy or place in the freezer for later

As always, I encourage you to try the recipe and try variations with ingredients that you enjoy the most. Also, I love it if you share it with me @holistic_in_houston. Let me know if you loved the recipe or if you’d change something.
